Avid AI Quick Tour

Need some quick tips on how to find things in Avid? Take a few minutes to view our video tour of the Avid AI platform.

Avid AI is a donor intelligence tool that unites nonprofit data across various platforms and turns it into actionable steps for increasing donations.

Currently we have three ways for you to view your data: Benchmarks, Insights, and the Fundraiser Scorecard. Today we are going to focus on navigating your data in Insights.

Your Insights Dashboard brings all of your connected systems together in a set of reports - these reports have a variety of functions: some summarize overall revenue and donor counts, while others look at specific donor cohorts.

Once you have signed in, you will begin on your Insights Dashboard. On the left of your screen are the sections and features available to you based on your account type and subscriptions.

In the top Navigation bar you will find our support form, notifications and alerts for you, and your account information.

A quick stop in the Edit Profile section allows you to teach Avid how you would like to see and interact with your data. We recommend taking a moment to visit the Prioritization tab and choose the channels and segments that are most relevant and important to you.

Avid will always let you know how recent your data is in the Time Period Data box. In the event you need to return to a recent report, Avid AI remembers the last three you visited and lists them for a quick click return.

To keep you informed of how your donors are engaging, Avid shows you the top 5 insights of the day. These tabbed sections contain charts from various reports that Avid has learned are impactful to your fundraising program. From the name of the report, to the recent value and change, to the What does this mean? section below the chart, you are provided actionable insights to investigate and explore through the view insight details button.

Every available report in Avid is listed below your top 5 Insights. These reports are divided into sections that look at all aspects of your program. Let’s do a quick summary of these sections:

  • Overall - year over year and some month over month reporting of total revenue and donors
  • Channels - these are defined by your provided business rules for the source of giving
  • Giving Levels - thresholds based on donor gift amounts that are determined by you within your Settings
  • Lifecycles - Acquisition, Retention, and Reactivation reports for your donors
  • Appeal Analysis - a powerful report that is useful for answering specific campaign questions
  • Recurring Donor Analysis - monthly recurring donor behavior and comparisons to non-recurring donors
  • Donor Behavior - additional reports on second gifts, increased (or decreased giving)
  • Donor Traits - previous month giving, specific program reports, and cross channel giving

To explore a report just click a link. Each report can be filtered through the filter tray - giving you the power to explore each report and segment data for more insights. And if you discover an insight you’d like to share, you can either copy the URL for internal collaboration, or generate a quick PowerPoint presentation from the charts you have filtered.

Every report also has up to 3 takeaways listed at the end of the report with AI powered insights. If the Explore option is available, Avid will take you on a journey through your reports, applying a variety of filters to show you your data through a different lens.

he option to generate and save full PowerPoint decks is available through the Generate Presentation button on your Insights dashboard, complete with title cards, your organization’s branding, source lines, and directional arrows for trends.

All connections are made through the Settings screen in Avid - this is where you will find data mapping, your organizational profile, and your team.
