What is in a Data Blend?

Data blends in Avid AI power every insight and pathway. The constituent data blend and the subscriber data blend summary are here with links to the full list of columns.

Avid creates data blends from your integrated data. The constituent data blend unites your provided constituent data and transaction data from your CRM, giving you insights into where, when, and how your constituents give. The subscriber data blend is built from your email system allowing you to determine your email health, acquisition, and cultivation/stewardship. Through these data blends, Avid is able to visualize your organization's fundraising efforts as a whole, helping you to turn insights into donors.

Using the columns in the data blend, you can build an unlimited amount of segments to use in Pathways, filter Insights reports, and build charts. It is important that when your data has been fully integrated, usually 24 hours after setting up the connection, that you return to map the data set columns and build the data blend. Here is a step-by-step article to show you how.

There are specific columns that are available to you when mapping and when creating segments. Here is a list of some top level sections and what the columns or records should contain.

Constituent Data Blend

You can go here for a complete list of columns in the constituent data blend.

id - this is the account ID. This id generally comes from the CRM data provided.

account_type - this is the type of account for constituent data. Households and Organization are two types of common account types.

contacts - this is a grouping of information about the constituents. In these columns you will have information about each contact including emails, phone, address, and any other information you have collected recorded in a field in your CRM, including custom fields.

transactions - this is a grouping of information about the transactions associated with an account. Often, there are many transactions that belong to a single account. Transactions include the transaction id, amount, date, channel, subchannel, and many other columns that you have mapped in the transactions for column mapping.

giving_summary - this contains current period summary information about the constituents behavior. Giving summary is unique because it contains not only the current giving level defined by your fiscal settings, but also calculated fields like average gift by account, lifetime gifts, lifetime revenue, and giving behavior in the current period.

giving_history - this section of columns contains information on first gift, second gift, last gift, largest gift, and also first and last recurring gift, first midlevel gift, and first major gift if available. Each of these groups of information are structured like the overall transactions group above, making it logical and easy to understand the structure.

These column groups are designed to help you gain better insight into your existing data, as well as provide calculated options to explore historical and current giving behavior. Ready to dive in?
